WORDS WORK LITERACY SOCIETY AT A GLANCE
Who We Are
We are a non-profit organization bringing lifelong learning to the residents of the Town and County of Athabasca through literacy, language, numeracy and basic skills development programs.
What We Do
We offer three programming streams for adults, as well as learner supports including a safe and welcoming learning space in the lower level of the Town office.
Trained volunteer tutors work one-on-one with adult learners at no cost to the learner.
Programs that teach adults the importance of early literacy in children's lives: "Books For Babies", and "Rhymes That Bind".
Classroom courses and learning activities that address foundational learning needs in the community.
Words Work Literacy Society is a member of the Community Adult Learning Network and funded by Alberta Advanced Education. We are governed by a volunteer
Board of Directors.
