WORDS WORK LITERACY SOCIETY AT A GLANCE
Who We Are
We are a non-profit organization and registered Canadian charity bringing lifelong learning to the residents of the Town and County of Athabasca through literacy, language, numeracy and basic skills development programs.

ACTIVITIES
What We Do
We offer three programming streams for adults: one-on-one tutoring, family literacy and community programs. We also offer learner supports like access to computers and wi-fi, help filling out forms and a lending library. All this in a safe and welcoming learning space in the lower level of the Town of Athabasca office.

ADULT TUTORING
Trained volunteer tutors work one-on-one with adult learners at no cost to the learner.

FAMILY LITERACY
Programs that teach adults the importance of early literacy in children's lives: Rhymes That Bind and Book Bags for Babies.
COMMUNITY PROGRAMS
Classroom courses and learning activities that address foundational learning needs in the community.

OUR PARTNERS
Words Work Literacy Society is a member of the Community Adult Learning Network and funded by Alberta Advanced Education. We are governed by a volunteer
Board of Directors.
